$2.5M Grant Awarded for Recreation Center Construction


The Burbank Park District has been awarded a $2.475 million State of Illinois PARC grant to help pay for the construction of the “Fusion RecPlex” which will be added on to our current Stevenson Recreaiton Center.  A fitness center, gymnasium, walking/jogging track and muli-purpose rooms  are just a few of the new amenties slated for this project.  The Park and Recreational Construction (PARC) Grant Program recently announced over $50 million in targeted investments for improvements to park and recreation facilities in Illinois.

 

The Burbank Park District broke ground in October on this exciting new facility.  View the above slideshow to see pictures from the Groundbreaking Ceremony and the most current progress on this project.  This exciting new facitiliy is slated to open in the summer of 2013.
