$2.5M Grant Awarded for Recreation Center Construction

The Burbank Park District has been awarded a $2.475 million State of Illinois PARC grant to help pay for the construction of the “Fusion RecPlex” which will be added on to our current Stevenson Recreaiton Center. A fitness center, gymnasium, walking/jogging track and muli-purpose rooms are just a few of the new amenties slated for this project. The Park and Recreational Construction (PARC) Grant Program recently announced over $50 million in targeted investments for improvements to park and recreation facilities in Illinois.

The Burbank Park District broke ground in October on this exciting new facility. View the above slideshow to see pictures from the Groundbreaking Ceremony and the most current progress on this project. This exciting new facitiliy is slated to open in the summer of 2013.

We can tell you the location will be Stevenson Park and the big amenities to the existing building will be a fitness center gymnasium.

Will the stevenson expansion be replacing the basketball If so i think harr park can be expanded

also was there consideration for an indoor waterpark like pelican harbor in bolingbrook.

Why are the people that play soccer in Narragansett Park allowed to drink alcohol and leave all kinds of trash (example dirty diapers broken bottles) all other the area. We, Burbank citizens, cannot.

When someone visits this website, the slideshow for the (PARC) Grant Program stays at the forefront blocking any drop down menus to be able to peruse the website. Is there a way to close it on our own to clear that field, or are we supposed to click on a different menu to make it disappear, or actually hide it? Otherwise it makes it very difficult to see the drop down menus Thanks for your assistance

If you double click on the title of the drop down menu the slideshow should go away. Thank you.

There will not be an ice rink at Stevenson, but there is an outdoor ice rink at New Castle Park. Thank you.
