Swim Lessons

Learn to Swim Program


The Burbank Park District swim program presents an extensive selection of courses. This program provides opportunities for achievement and allows smooth transitions between levels of instruction. A wide variety of activities are offered at every level. These activities stimulate interest and motivate students to advance to the next level of swim instruction.

NOTE: During the first lesson, children are tested and placed in a level according to their ability. Please register for all swim lessons desired to guarantee your child’s placement in them. Registration for one session will not guarantee placement in succeeding sessions.


Infant Lessons

Don’t let your child grow up afraid of the water. These lessons acquaint the infant with water, as well as removing
some fears. This program will get children used to opening their eyes and putting their heads under water. All children must wear a swim diaper and a swim suit. Moms or Dads are required to assist and must go into the water. Please register for all swim sessions desired to guarantee your child’s placement in them. Registration for one session will
not guarantee placement in succeeding sessions.

Adult Swim Lessons

Have you always feared going near the water? Are you avoiding your friends when they go water skiing or boating? Now is the time to put a stop to all those fears and join our swim program. Our instructor will take you through step by
step form, technique and breathing pattern. After this class you will feel more comfortable going into the water and able to enjoy all those water activities you never could enjoy before.

Private Swim Lessons

Have a busy schedule but still want to learn how to swim? Private lessons are the perfect accommodation for the working parent or for busy kids. We will teach the same skills that are taught in morning swim lesson sessions. Forty-five minute lessons will be taught one-on-one during open pool hours by trained swim instructors. Can’t make it in during the afternoon or during weekdays? No problem because we will offer night and weekend hours. Times will vary based on availability of our instructors. H20 Works

Increase your flexibility, strength and circulatory endurance without jarring or placing undue stress on weight bearing
joints. This class will strengthen and tone individual muscle groups with walking, jogging and exercises. Swimming skills are not necessary to enjoy this class.

Diving Lessons

Diving Lessons will be offered for those who are interested in the basics of diving techniques. Students will learn the correct approach technique as well as basic front and back dives. More advanced students will then move on to learn how to perform pikes, front flips, and reverse dives using proper form. This is an introduction course for anyone who would like  to learn how to do basic skills off the diving board or for those interested in joining a high school diving team.
